provides medical help to the population residing in the Techa riverside settlements in 1949-1960, and exposed to radiation due to the Mayak PA nuclear accident and the 1957 accident (EURT), and their offspring.

Since January 1, 2009, the Chelyabinsk Interdepartmental Expert Council has been functioning on the basis of the Urals Research Center for Radiation Medicine. Citizens of the Russian Federation residing in the Urals Federal District may apply to the IES to resolve the issue of causal connection of diseases, disabilities and death with the effects of radiation exposure.

The Department of Radiation Biology of the Faculty of Biology of FChelyabinsk State University was established on the basis of the Urals Research Center for Radiation Medicine (URCRM) of the FMBA of Russia 10.03.1998 (Order of the State Committee of the Russian Federation for Higher Education № 649).
